I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. I operate from several treatment including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I Received my Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling and chose to obtain an additional specialty in Sexual Orientation. I am able to work with individuals and couples/relationships both LGBTQ and Straight as well as monogamous and ethically Poly-formed relationships for a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. Mr Demire helped me massively in just 3 sessions. He's patient, asks questions that make you think, and really focuses on the problems you're having. It's a pity that I can't continue my sessions with him, however due to work commitments I have to stop for a while. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their mental health.

I worked with Demire during a time where I was struggling dealing with the pandemic and all of the stress that came along with it. Demire is a great listener, a great encourager, but also very prepared to introduce a new way of seeing and interpreting situations, if necessary. He inspired me to ask myself necessary questions, challenge myself, and to give myself room for error and time to heal. We also laughed a lot. Demire is an insightful, empathetic, and intuitive counselor. I became comfortable with having therapy with him in a fairly short time. The secret to that success was taking the time early on to prioritize my long and short term goals, and to lay the early ground work needed to manage my expectations. Demire was able to help me set personal and professional boundaries, communicate my needs and wants more clearly, and address challenging stigma I felt about taking medication. Demire has a gifted sense of timing I can only surmise, that comes from instinct and experience. He is excellent at “holding space” during times I felt most fragile, by saying either very little, or just enough to encourage me to communicate more. A very competent and able counselor, I was lucky to have found him available to work with.
