I've been working in the counseling field for over 21 years. I am a doctoral level Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Drug & Alcohol Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I treat a variety of disorders such as depression, anxiety and PTSD.
I have provided counseling in a variety of settings including addictions, veterans and persons who have experienced traumatic events such as First Responders (Fire, LEO, Dispatchers, and Healthcare).. I am a veteran of the U.S. Army with a total of 6 years service. I have come to understand a persons internal struggles with addictions, mental health and post traumatic stress based on my own experiences and my present and previous careers. I recognize that persons in certain professions and struggles want a clinician who understands their walk and trials.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

dr. ritter has been great
A very good doctor and a kind man with a lot of experience. Highly recommend!
Dr Ritter is very easy to talk to and relatable.
Dr. Ritter is an exceptional listener and has demonstrated that he cares about me working on my issues. His treatment has been sound and has produced positive results.
Dr. Ritter and I have only talked a few times so far but I can say, he is a great person to talk to! He is very understanding and can relate to many of my experiences. I would highly recommend him.
I absolutely love working with Tom! He’s supportive, caring, and very relatable. I would recommend Tom to anyone!
I feel as though my concerns are being addressed. He takes the extra time and just listens to my rant and spit out everything I can’t tell anyone else. The main thing he helped me realize is that my emotions are valid the way I feel actually matters. I do really appreciate him taking the time and helping me through what I’m going through. In all honesty it’s nice to get feedback from someone who just gives you honest suggestions.
Incredibly helpful.
Dr. Ritter is amazing. He is very relatable, very knowledgeable, and very easy to talk to.
Dr.Ritter is a very cool and seen you understand what I'm going through. Although I haven't spoken to him much I can see that his methods are helpful. The few times I've met with him really helped me out a lot.
Dr. Ritter is a wealth of therapeutic expertise and is exceptionally insightful. As a person in a similar field (though much earlier on in my career), it was incredible to see how effective he is at establishing an environment where you feel comfortable and empowered to speak about the difficulties you’re going through. Even though nobody is perfect, I have a hard time imagining a therapy-appropriate issue that he would not be able to tackle with a person that is willing to make some good-faith effort. Definitely would recommend!
Dr Ritter is great! He listens and sends information to help me. He always responds to my questions.
Dr. Ritter is a really wonderful counselor. He is very understanding, a good listener, and never fails to make me feel at ease. He is quick to respond no matter when I message him or need an extra session. He has provided me with resources and guidance in order to deal with my anxiety and depression on my own. I would highly recommend him to my friends.
Dr Ritter really helped me through some hurdles in my life. He has such a friendly demeanor and you do feel like you’re talking to someone who has your best interest at heart the whole time. His background and experience sets him apart and he really understands all types of people. Thank you for the support Tom!
Tom has been more than a counselor. He feels like a friend and a confidant. I feel like I’m ranting and raving to a good buddy as opposed to talking to a therapist.
Great therapist, always is there when you need him. Highly recommend to anyone searching for a therapist who really understands the ins and outs of mental health.
He is very helpful. Amazing listener and is always there to help
Dr. Ritter listens and responds with concern, not ridicule. I appreciate having a professional hear my issues and offer advice while encouraging me to explore the why behind my feelings.
I haven't been working with Dr. Ritter very long and I had to cancel our 2nd session due to a migraine but so far I really like him. He isn't judgemental, he's very caring, and easy to talk to.
Dr. Ritter has been great to work with. Chatting with him can feel like catching up with an old friend. He listens without judgement, offers advice, and shares his own stories. It can be uncomfortable to discuss personal and upsetting topics, but we always find something to talk about and reflect upon. He's quick to respond to messages, and cares about making sure I feel heard. Thank you for your time and patience, Dr. Ritter!
Tom is truly a great dude. I’m new to therapy, but Tom never made things feel “weird” or anything else that might be associated with therapy. He is a great listener and really good at figuring out what is going on by having a normal conversation. He has a cool and interesting background that makes it easy to relate to and make our conversations very productive. Tom is also great at getting back and allowing his clients the opportunity to contact him outside the scheduled meetings. It really makes you feel like you’re valued and heard. Overall, I would recommend him to anybody.
