I am a dual licensed mental health counselor with licenses in both substance-abuse and mental health disorders. In my time as a counselor I have worked with a broad client base, including people struggling with major depressive disorder, bi-polar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, relationship conflicts both professional and personal, family problems, and substance abuse disorders. I have been greatly honored to walk with some very brave and inspiring people and look forward to working to more people who are ready to make real changes to their lives.

My approach looks to first establish an environment of unconditional positive regard in which a person can feel safe to bring out the most authentic parts of their lives and make meaning out their struggles. I do this by combining cognitive behavioral theories, emotion focused treatment, and mindfulness. Each person I connect with will have a personalized approach that will help them find the places in his/her life that can bring about a better quality of living.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Out of the six or seven therapists I’ve tried over the last 10+ years, Daniel is the only one I have EVER built true trust with. I can tell him every part of me I’ve hidden, free of judgement, so we can work through it. If there is judgement, it’s mutual, respectful, and 10000000% based off of the strong relationship we’ve built. He will call out and help shift the narrative of my self talk and the assumptions I jump to, bringing me back to concrete facts and evidence. He’s the first counselor I’ve ever delved into my drug habits with, and for the first time in……15 years?? I have things slightly more under control because he’s helping me work through things instead of automatically resorting to old habits. I sometimes wish I could have more than one session a week because so much goes on, but he has gone out of his way to respond to messages in his off time, providing an incredible resource between sessions. I appreciate the playfulness he brings to therapy - we talk about a lot of really really hard things, and he’ll somehow find a way to make me laugh when he sees me shutting down. He’s great at knowing when the silence needs to remain silent and I need to sit with it vs the silence is harming my thought patterns and he redirects it. I cannot speak higher of my experience with Daniel and I am so so grateful to have him in my corner. I would be in a much darker place without his support and the skills and lessons he’s taught me. Honestly, even when we just have a vent session, it’s helpful to complain to a neutral party.

Daniel is great, he is always available and reliable when called upon, and we had a few great discussions together, he was awesome. It’s unfortunate therapy wasn’t just meant for me probably due to my background, but the little time I got to spend with him was certainly worth it.

I’ve only been seeing Dan for a handful of weeks but I’m so thankful I selected him. He truly allows me to be very open and authentic about my past, my concerns, and my fears. I struggle with addiction and anxiety and have historically told white lies to therapists to avoid judgment…Dan has been incredible in the short time we’ve worked together. He helps look at my problems from a different perspective and does a phenomenal job removing me from the cycles I tend to get stuck in. I appreciate that each session usually comes with some form of “homework” or something for me to pay attention to in myself over the next week. Makes our work and my goals more actionable. Cannot speak higher of Dan and look forward to really working with him in the coming weeks.
