More about Angela

I have been providing therapy in rural Montana for 30 years. I was Director of Services for a Mental Health Center for 5 years before going into private practice in 1995. Practicing in a rural area is a lot like being a country "doc", you treat "everything that walks in the door". This has given me a wide range of experience with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, childhood abuse, domestic violence, behavior problems, and life transitions. I have a wholistic, eclectic approach fitting the therapy to the client rather than fitting the client to the therapy.
In addition to a private practice, I also teach college Psychology and Sociology. I love these subjects and love teaching. I bring my knowledge and experience to the therapeutic relationship.
I have a special interest in nutrition and its effect on mental health. To put the research together in one place I authored the book, “Cooking to Cure, A nutritional approach to anxiety and depression”. “Cooking to Cure” focuses on balancing neurochemistry through nutrition and meal preparation. Nutrition, exercise, and positive social relationships have a profound effect on mental health and our ability to deal with stress.
Difficult life transitions can be an opportunity for personal growth. Dealing with change effectively can leave you feeling stronger and more confident. I can help with problem-solving and improving overall mental and physical health through healthy lifestyle changes. I look forward to helping you develop coping skills that will help you through this transition as well as others you will experience in the future.
Life can be overwhelming. Sometimes we need help finding our way. This can be by identifying and implementing options. Sometimes we just need someone to listen to us without judgment. Let's talk.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

A great therapist! I recommend!
Angela amazing. She has helped me tremendously in understanding how to set personal boundaries and develop positive routines for my mental health. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a counselor
Angela has been wonderful. Remarkably attentive, a great listener, and recalls all of our previous sessions. I feel understood and like she truly cares.
Angela is immensely helpful. She is not only experienced, but also kind, understanding but with a realistic approach to any and all issues presented to her. She has helped me through the toughest times in my life and expertly given me new perspectives and coping mechanisms to help me overcome my issues.
There are some sessions where I don’t even know what I will talk about. But she manages to bring out the tangled mess in my mind and helps to untangle it all and I feel so safe and comfortable with her. To address and do my shadow work, I couldn’t be in better hands.
Angela has been indispensable as I have navigated some very hefty life changes and is very understanding and knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics and therapies. She makes me feel in control, empowered, and helps me to use my own strength and talents to heal myself. I would recommend this counsellor without hesitation.
Angela is super articulate and provides an attentive and sharp, yet calming presence. She’s perceptive. I appreciate when she continues off threads of thought that came up the the previous session.
Angela has helped me a lot to see from another perspective and to help improve my life. She listens and offers great tools to reach your goals. It's easy to talk to her and we often end up laughing in our sessions which I really appreciate. Thank you Angela!
Angela is absolutely AMAZING. In the first session she knew one of my main issues was Complicated Grief. She helped me let go of two very important people in my life that have been gone for a very long time that I hadn't been able to let go of until that first session with Angela. I truly look forwards to my sessions with her as she calls my anxiety and my fears. I hope she is in for the long haul because I don't know what I'll do with out her.
Angela has helped me so much with a variety of issues in just a few months. I’m extremely grateful to have had such an understanding, non-judgmental and caring counsellor. She has given me many tools to deal with daily life and I cannot thank her enough!
Angela has been a huge help to me in working through some of my issues so far. I look forward to our sessions every week and appreciate that she meets me where I’m at, and listens with such empathy and grace. Our conversations are incredibly useful and she challenges me in just the right way to get me thinking differently about my experiences, emotions and perceptions.
Angela is such a caring, safe and kind soul to rest in. She is giving me tools to handle moments of overwhelm and anxiety. She is knowledgable, wise, patient and understanding. She is going to help me untangle everything going on in my mind and already I feel so supported at this stage of my journey. The whole world has gone mad since I discovered this platform, I'm so glad I found it at the time that I did as I have really needed it. Living remotely can be hard to access meaningful help, when you need it. This has been hugely beneficial to me. I feel extremely lucky to have been matched straight away with someone I click with and feel comfortable with.
I was matched with Angela a few weeks ago. She's honestly great and I like her a lot. She reads and acknowledges everything I write, even though I sometimes ramble on and on without an end in sight. She's understanding but also challenges my point of view when needed, allowing me to try to see a new perspective. She has been helping me a lot through messages, live chats and she even has worksheets for me.
Angela is a supportive and empathic counsellor. She is professional, asks intelligent questions and offers valuable insight. Even early on this is developing as a helpful counselling relationship
Angela has been super helpful with all my issues and I’m very lucky to have been matched with her as my therapist .
In such a short period of time Angela has helped me so much already! She’s so lovely and understanding!
Angela really takes the time to identify with you and relates to your main concerns. She puts things into a perspective that you’ve never looked at before, despite the years of trying to understand something.
Angela has been a wonderful help in teaching me strategies to combat negative self-talk and poor mental habits. She's also very responsive and consistent in her contact, which has also helped me a lot in staying on track and progressing.
