Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker with certificates in marriage and family therapy and grief counseling. Over the years I have taken a nontraditional career path working in counseling, education, the arts, and management.

My counseling style is supportive and interactive. My approach combines humanism, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and ecopsychology. I believe that we all have the skills and solutions within us to solve problems, but at times we need guidance and support in doing so.

It takes insight to realize that one needs to make changes in their life, and it takes courage to reach out to get help in doing so. I would be happy to assist you on your journey towards a more balanced and satisfying life.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Virginia is Great- very supportive, caring & helpful ❤️

Virginia is fantastic at hearing all that is of concern and finding an easy to follow solution. I also feel very comfortable in our sessions even though talking to people is something I try to avoid when I can. She ignites hope and makes me feel like anything is achievable through better choices.

I have only recently just started therapy and I was hesitant to begin this process again. I was concerned originally that my problems were not necessarily in the realm of being fixed by therapy, but after my first few sessions with Virginia I am so happy I stuck with it! I have realized that even if my problems aren’t being directly affected by therapy, it has helped me immensely to just be able to talk through some of my circumstances with someone who is “on the outside“. Many thanks to Virginia and to those responsible for developing this therapy experience!

I think Virginia is Wonderful- She is very quick to respond, listens to me and helps me to have a better understanding for myself. These first two sessions have been great, I think having Virginia help and BetterHelp service are going to have a significant impact on my life and what I’ve been going through!

I’ve so enjoyed my time working with Virginia! She’s helped me work though my past and focus on my future. I hope if I ever need to come back to therapy I can see her again.

I've only had 2 sessions with Virginia, after switching counselors, and I already have learned more and literally had better help with her than the previous counselor and the almost 10 sessions we had.

Reviewed August 2021

Thanks to Virginia, I've made some major headway in understanding myself and my sensitivities, which has enabled me to fine-tune my approach to relationships with friends and loved ones. My initial goals for starting counselling have now been achieved, and I look forward to pursuing new ones!

Virginia is an excellent counselor who has helped me navigate through some turbulent changes in my life over the past six months. She is an excellent active listener and continues to help me work through my therapy and life goals.

Reviewed May 2021

Virginia is incredibly kind, patient and understanding of anything I choose to speak with her about. She does not push her own opinions on you, but instead allows you to naturally understand your own feelings and I feel far more confident and at ease for having spoken with her.

Reviewed February 2021

Virginia is a great counsellor. She has really understood my concerns and has helped me very well. I think I have made great progress since having counselling with her. I would definitely recommend Virginia.

Reviewed December 2020

Virginia is a wonderful listener and has a great deal of useful feedback. She gives me concepts to think about in between sessions which contributes to my overall progress. I would recommend her!

Reviewed November 2020

Virginia is the best! She listens very closely, really tries to understand the underlying issues that I am dealing with, and her advice is always great. I never feel judged or embarrassed about anything I tell her. She is great at what she does!

Reviewed November 2020

I can tell she’s listening because she repeats what I just said to her in her own words. She makes me feel even my smallest issues are worth talking about. It’s nice to have a sounding board and someone understanding to talk to- but she still gives me challenges to walk away with
