Hello,

I am a PhD level counselor that is fully licensed in the state of Michigan and have recently received a temporary license in Massachusetts. I have experience working with clients with a vast array of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, life transitions, and grief and bereavement. I have also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

As a counselor, I strive to create a safe, therapeutic environment in which together, we can explore your needs and goals. In sessions, I will treat you with respect, while being non-judgmental and supportive as we work on challenges that you may be facing. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic forms of counseling and you and I will collaborate to determine a way to meet your individuals needs and hopes.

Thank you for taking this first step towards making the changes that you want in your life. Counseling is a collaborative journey, and I will use my training and expertise to help you attain the type of life that you want.

I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Reviewed September 2021

Dr. Moreno is fantastic! I have attempted counseling at several different points of my life, with in-person counselors. The other counselors were fine (enough) but never really had an approach that made a lasting impact. Dr Moreno’s approach was subtle and insightful. She helped me untangle unhealthy thought processes with gentle questions that challenged me to re-evaluate my perspective.

Reviewed August 2021

Dr. Moreno is awesome. She listens well, helps me understand the issues at hand, and provides solutions that work a lot better for me than anywhere I have been before.

Reviewed August 2021

I'm just getting started, but this experience with therapy has proven more insightful than my previous attempts at "in person" counseling. I really like that we had a brief "getting to know you" session and that Dr. Moreno has homework for me to do between sessions. This makes sense-you need more than one hour every week or two to see change with anything. Personal growth will require work outside our sessions.

I'm confident of her expertise.

I had the first session with Dr Julie Moreno and she gave really good advice already, and is asking interesting questions to understand me better

Reviewed June 2020

In the 20 years of seeing and speaking with specialists, Dr. Moreno has been the first one to make a connection, help just after one session, and to make me feel heard. I appreciate that more than anyone would ever know.
