More about Keeli

  • 4 years' experience

  • LMSW

I am a clinical social worker with 5 years of counseling experience with a graduate level degree, and 5 years of mental health experience with an undergraduate degree in social work. My career has primarily focused on working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Most recently I have been working with a comprehensive DBT program, and learning and implementing these skills even within my own life have been life changing. I primarily work with adults, and am looking forward to working with adults who would like to work through and process many of the daily struggles that comes with adult life, career change, relationships, motivation, fears, and self-esteem. I also have experience working with combat veterans, and have taken course work at Michigan State University related to combat veteran social work practice. I have some experience working with the LGBT community, and consider myself an ally to the community.

My counseling style is individualized to each person, and I am warm and goal directed. I value open conversation, compassion, empathy, and validation. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I prefer a relational approach to therapy, while also maintaining professional boundaries. I have seen the benefits of therapy first hand, and am looking forward to helping others along their journey to a more joyful and fulfilling life.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
