More about Spring

  • 10 years' experience

I have my Master’s of social work degree from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and am a licensed clinical social worker in both California and Hawaii. Over the past 10 years I have worked with a wide range of populations within the medical field. I have specialized in working with adults dealing with chronic and or terminal illnesses and all the complexities that arise with this. I have also provided grief counseling and support to individuals after losing a loved one and worked extensively with individuals to combat feelings of depression, anxiety, loneliness, and cultivate happiness.

I draw from a variety of modalities of therapy such as cognitive behavioral, rogerian, strength based, and solution focused theories, in addition to motivational interviewing techniques. My main goal is that you are the driver during this time in therapy, and by working together we will be able to address whatever your current concerns are. I will be here to listen empathically, work with you on developing weekly goals to address concerns, and provide feedback and suggestions when appropriate. Former clients have described me as genuine, nonjudgmental, and supportive.

I offer phone or video sessions midday and evenings M-F and most times on weekends. I am available to respond via text throughout the day, though it may not always be an immediate response as I may be with other clients throughout the day.

It takes strength and courage to take that first step to sign up for therapy and begin to make changes for the better in your life. I commend you for that and greatly look forward to working with you further.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
