Hi there! My name is Kara, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California.

I believe in taking an approach that is fluid and open to change based on what works best for my clients. Therefore, this is a safe, judgment-free space, and I value your feedback. I encourage you to come as you are and wherever that may be on your journey, I'm willing to meet you there and support you in reaching your desired goals.

I have a master's degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles where I have stayed and built my practice. My experience over the last five years includes working as a school-based therapist to children and adolescents, working with adults as individuals and couples at a private practice, and facilitating a group and individual therapy at an addiction treatment clinic. Prior to my work as a therapist, I was a personal trainer and I worked abroad teaching English; therefore, I have a lot of experience connecting and sharing information and skills with people of all ages and needs.

I use an eclectic approach to therapy, using various techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, rapid resolution therapy, psychodynamic informed, psychoeducation, and art and play therapy. I'm also a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder therapist and a strong proponent for incorporating mindfulness into treatment. I emphasize the importance of communication skills within all treatment models as a way to cultivate stronger relationships with the self and others.

Let me know if you have any questions or if I can clarify any information for you. I understand that finding the right therapist can take time, and I come from an understanding that not all dynamics will fit. As such, I will always be open to helping you find the right fit for you as my goal is to help you receive the best care possible.
