Katie was great at listening to my primary concerns and talking me down when I had a hard time getting out of a cycle of thought patterns. She gave me great tools to use when those same thoughts returned, and I feel more confident in being able to manage these situations in the future.

I have been involved in mental health roles as a social worker for the past three years. I have experience working with all ages ranging from school aged children to geriatric clients. I also have over 6 years of experience working with people with moderate to severe disabilities in multiple different capacities. I have a Bachelors in Social Work from Auburn University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama. I am currently licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
My counseling style is very laid back as I find it is most important to create an inviting environment in order to facilitate trust. Trust and respect are two of the most important aspects of a beneficial therapeutic relationship. I use solution focused and person centered approaches, and also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma focused therapy. I utilize a wide skill set in order to most effectively work with clients to create the best treatment plan, and make the most progress.
Taking the first step and seeking help is often the most difficult step to take. By starting on this journey, you are already on the path to success. If you're willing to begin, I'm here to help.
I look forward to working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
