Daniel does an excellent job of assessing what your initial concerns are and pointing you in a direction that is productive and inciteful. He seems genuine and interested in helping you get to a point where you don't only feel better but understand why you feel they way you do and how to get through it. Extremely friendly and professional. I cannot recommend highly enough.

More about Daniel

  • 11 years' experience
  • Male
  • LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience serving multiple populations including clients struggling through financial hardship, life changes, relationship issues, emotional/ physical abuse/trauma, diagnosis of a serious mental illness in the family, and depression anxiety. I graduated from the University of Texas A&M - Commerce and have been licensed in Kentucky since 2013. I was raised in Louisville and am pleased to be home and serving my fellow Kentuckians.

I prefer an interactive style of therapy where the client is the expert in their care and the therapist's role is to assist them in reaching their objectives. A successful client/ therapist relationship will leave the client feeling heard, respected, and more confident in their daily life. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive therapy. The client takes the lead in therapy and I will modify my approach to meet your needs.

The bravest and most fulfilling way to grow is to "do the work" and I look forward to assisting you in that journey in every way that I can.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Reviewed February 2022

I feel like Daniel Alpiger really cares about helping the people he sees. He checks in regularly, encourages messages and interactions between sessions, and remembers specific issues and instances that were of note that we were working on (more than just general overall ideas). He's thorough, has unique perspective, and offers creative solutions for issues that I might not have thought of. He also focuses on the idea of how I say things might have a deeper reflection on what I feel than I might have previously considered. Overall, I would definitely recommend him as a therapist, and I will continue to work with him because I believe he offers a perspective that will be helpful to me.

It’s always hard to start therapy and have any progress with a new therapist. Daniel Alpiger listed to my concerns, and asked me what my priorities are for therapy. After our session he has me work on realistic goals between sessions. This is the first time a therapist has approached my issues in this manner. It is working.
