Hi there and welcome to the first step of taking charge of your mental health. Congratulations!

My name is Rachel Garrett and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker for the state of Alabama. I graduated with my MSW from Troy University in 2016 and have worked with many different areas including Child Abuse and Neglect with DHR, juvenile delinquents, incarcerated adults, and inpatient Geri psych. I have worked with depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, and compassion fatigue.

I tend to use mainly client centered therapy, CBT, and DBT and if you feel that I am the right fit for you, you and I will work together to navigate your life stressors and hopefully reach a blissful outcome. I promise to actively listen, treat you with kindness and respect, and fully empathize with you. I look forward to getting to know you and working with you!

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I love the fact that I can send her a message day or night when working with someone at a clinic I feel I don’t have the time or support I do have with Rachel.
