I am a marriage and family therapist with 6 years of experience working with co-occurring mental health disorders. I have worked in residential treatment for 5 years helping restore functionality to daily living, when available helping reunification with family or support system, helping to identify and adapt to appropriate changes to help improve with quality of living. It is an important process of understanding deficits that interferes with emotional well-being, negative thought patterns, and our ability to manage day to day utilizing appropriate coping methods. It is my goal to help with learning alternative self-care activities, utilizing coping skills, and grounding techniques that could help us to function in the present moment. These are the basic fundamentals that are important through the healing process which could help improve your personal growth.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Michael was very attentive and caring and provided the help I needed to resolve a conflict I was experiencing in my life! I learned a lot and I am happy to carry it with me. Conversations during session just felt like they flowed naturally from one thing to another and we were able to touch on all points, even hidden ones, in that way. I will definitely look to meet with him again if/when I return to therapy and would highly recommend him to others.

Micheal is a great family therapist. He has helped us as a family of "adults." Our teen graduated HS and stay at home to go to school. Micheal expertly directed her with advice that a "parent" could not give about the transition from being a child to being an adult living at home and understanding personal responsibility. He helped us achieve peace. He comes across as laid back but has the ability to focus on what is really being said. He provides gentle, humorous, educated and persuasive guidance.

Reviewed December 2022

I really like talking to Michael. He is caring and attentive and non-judgmental — believe it or not I have struggled finding these qualities in a therapist in the past so I really appreciate him. I feel very comfortable talking to him and he gives good direction on how to understand my feelings and emotions and we have really good discussions about all kinds of things on my mind. The best thing is that he is very good at keeping track of all of the different things going on and he remembers what is happening to me when we talk and where we left off. It is so reassuring to have someone like him not only to listen but to give useful feedback and show a sense of care for me as a person as well as a patient. I’m very happy with this arrangement.
