I am a marriage and family therapist who is licensed to practice in the beautiful states of Hawaii, Florida, and South Carolina. For the last 13 years, I have been working with clients from incredibly varied backgrounds dealing with a wide range of concerns. My most frequent work has been with people struggling with substance use issues, anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, and interpersonal and family relationship concerns.

When I was 17, my mother passed away and I struggled with the grief and life-changes that followed. I sought the help of a marriage and family therapist and it was through her compassion and wisdom that I was able to navigate this difficult time. This therapist inspired me to want to help others in the way I had been helped and so I began my extensive studies in the world of marriage and family therapy. Over the last 20 years, I have learned and drawn from such modalities as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Structural Family Therapy.

Just as my family had to encourage me to seek treatment after the death of my mother, I want to encourage you to reach out to someone who can help you with whatever you are struggling with. If that person is me, I would be honored to listen to your concerns and work with you to achieve a positive outcome.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Andrew provides a necessary sense of calm in my chaotic life. He takes the time to listen, understand and provide usable feedback for me to incorporate and reflect on. He responds to every message in a timely manner and truly takes the time to construct well thought out messages/responses to me. His responses and out live sessions make me feel like he actually cares about helping me solve my issues instead of simply going through the motions of letting me vent. Andrew is a great therapist and I will continue to utilize him as a resource for as long as I can!

Andrew is a good listener; very patient and knowledgeable. We have a nice rapport. 45 minutes feel like 5 many times. I can talk about anything and he’s engages readily with comments.

Andrew has a very effective method of helping me to identify areas I need to work on vs just telling me what’s wrong with me. He allows me to be proactive in improving my faults and makes me think about and dissect my problems. Andrew has been and integral part of helping me become a better person for myself and family.

Thank you very much Andrew for being my therapist and making me feel very comfortable during our sessions. I have to admit coming to my first session I was nervous and never knew what to expect. During our first session you were able to help me express my thoughts and emotions . From that moment I felt good and comfortable in our sessions. I’m very thankful for all our sessions where I’ve learned how to recognize and deal with my anger issues, being grounded and grateful for what I have, learned how to communicate better, and learned a bit on parenting styles. I’ve truly enjoyed all my sessions with Andrew and told him that it’s a fresh start for me for the new year. I’ll definitely reach out to Andrew again whenever I need more sessions in the future.

I was at a very low point in my life when I literally searched online for “virtual therapy” and BetterHelp popped up on my search list. I was very hesitant to try it but I was so desperate that I knew that I had nothing to lose. Now here I am several months later and there aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am. BetterHelp took the time to find the best therapist that met my needs and it has changed my life. Literally. From the first appointment that I had with Andrew, I immediately felt hopeful that things were going to be ok. Andrew is one of the most empathetic and knowledgeable people that I have ever met. Best of all, I don’t even realize that we’re speaking over the phone sometimes because I know that he is present with me and listening. No one can “solve” life’s problems but Andrew has guided me, supported me, and helped me to discover some profound things about myself. I feel stronger, more confident, and no longer alone. The fee that I pay is very reasonable and is actually less expensive than what I was expecting. To finally have peace of mind is worth it. It’s comforting to know that I now have someone that I can talk to that helps me process any feelings that come up. I look forward to my appointment every week and have started to write in the journal that they provide online. It gives me the option to share my journaling with my therapist or I can keep it private. I like this option because I do both depending on how I’m feeling that day. Please give it a try! It has saved me and I don’t feel isolated and alone anymore. It’s like having a best friend that won’t judge you!

Andrew is a good listener and very courteous. He makes thoughtful recommendations and follows up on them. He checks up on me a couple of times in between meetings. He keeps his personal values to himself; non-judgmental. I like that in a therapist.

Andrew is a great listener, follows up regularly, and responds in a timely manner. I could personally use more feedback, homework, or pulling at strings to get to the root of why I operate a certain way. For talk therapy, he's great.

I will be the first to admit my motivation to actively participate in the BetterHelp program has been intermittent, as my first experience with therapy through my insurance provider was off putting to say the least. However Andrew always makes sure to check in even when I don’t respond. That alone shows a genuine care for people and allowed me to let my guard down for someone help me through my problems. We’ve only had a handful of video sessions but I’ve also had a handful of epiphanies in that time through Andrew’s guidance so that should tell you enough about his expertise. My fiancé made this a requirement for me a couple months back and now I can honestly say I am doing this for me. Thank you Andrew!
