Prior to military service, I was employed as a social work supervisor, and social worker in multiple settings, including; Outpatient. substance abuse, Inpatient. and Outpatient, mental health and dual diagnosis treatment. Served as a member of the VA/DOD Integrated Mental Health Strategy (IMHS) leadership team for Strategic Action (SA) #23 on Chaplains’ Roles in the VA and DOD; published an article in the Journal for Healthcare Chaplaincy, March 2013. I served as one of the Army’s national strategic planners and trainers on suicide awareness and prevention programs.
