Laurie is attentive, supportive and relates to my situation. She goes with the flow and always has me figure stuff out, doesn't tell me what to do or gives me the answers.

I believe the foundation to wellness involves assisting one to learn, identify, and understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while providing skills to respond to and manage ones thoughts, emotions and behaviors effectively resulting in improved mental fitness, mind and body. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My expertise includes substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief and loss, and trauma as well as guiding people to decrease stress and living a more gratifying way of life.
In my practice, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person Centered Therapy. Therapeutic modalities integrate literature, CBT and DBT exercises, and exposure therapy.
I received a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Medialle College and hold a certificate of generalized DBT from University of Rochester. I have volunteered as a crisis counselor for The Trevor Project. As a former medical professional, I connect my knowledge of the mind and body to create positive change.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Laurie is amazing!
Laurie is attentive, supportive and relates to my situation. She goes with the flow and always has me figure stuff out, doesn't tell me what to do or gives me the answers.
Laurie has proven a thoughtful, considerate and compassionate counselor. I’ve been very happy with the worksheets and practical tools she’s been able to provide. She’s been warm and responsive and seems to approach clients with very few preconceptions. I have great confidence that she will continue to improve the lives of all who reach out to her for assistance.
I had never tried counseling before and enjoy it. I find that Laurie is easy to talk to and is an excellent listener. She made me feel comfortable right away and I was able to openly talk about my struggles whereas at home it is difficult to do. I would recommend Laurie to anyone who needs a ear to listen and support.
I am very pleased with my experience with my therapist.
Laurie has been incredibly respectful and compassionate throughout each session. She listens to understand, rather than listening to simply respond which has been very beneficial on creating an effective plan for me.
Laurie is amazing and I don't know what I'd do without her! She's is so 'real' and an absolute delight to speak to. She really cares and I can't imagine working with anyone else!
BetterHelp has been so helpful and in a way life changing. I work in an industry with very long and sporadic hours. This gives me the flexibility to be a professional while also taking care of my mental health. My therapist has become an amazing part of my life- where I look forward to her help and insight. Knowing that I can text her and get responses during the week apart from our scheduled sessions is extremely calming to my anxiety and supportive of my wellbeing. I have recently been doing several of the group sessions each week- and the intellectual aspect of therapy has been extremely helpful. I take notes from my group sessions to review and further delve into with my personal therapist. I am extremely thankful for what this platform has allowed me to do. I am very connected to my therapist and look to her for guidance and support.
Laurie is very compassionate. She listens well and her suggestions are easy to include in your daily habits.
Laurie is the best counselor I’ve had. I feel like I hit the jackpot with her after unsuccessfully going through therapy outside of BetterHelp. She is no BS and isn’t quick to blame. Would highly recommend.
My first experience with this service was really not so great and I almost gave up on it. If it wasn't for Laurie, I would have. She has been incredibly helpful in my life, whether it be just an objective ear to talk to or by giving me actual tools and tips to overcome my crippling anxieties. She checks in during the week, is great with scheduling, is quick to respond, patient and I look forward to our calls. It has quickly become a part of my weekly routine and I have difficulty creating healthy routines and sticking to them. I am super appreciative of her and would recommend her services to anyone looking for help.
Laurie is supportive and makes you feel comfortable sharing even on the most difficult topics. She is quick to respond and shares multiple ideas to try to help. It has been a great experience thus far!
Laurie has been really helpful and supportive during our sessions. She listens and understands and really makes an effort to help, and I never feel judged or scared to disclose something.
Laurie was very helpful and professional at helping me understand what was going on and teaches lessons very well.
I immediately felt comfortable talking to Laurie after one session. She listens but also gives me feedback and tips and I feel better afterwards. The worksheets help me also, after many years in traditional office therapy that is now a little more difficult with my schedule, I'm glad I did this.
Laurie has been supportive and understanding since we began to communicate. She is reliable and knowledgeable which has helped with understanding my relationship with myself and those around me. I highly recommend her as a therapist!
So far (this has been a short relationship), Laurie has listened and responded to what I have said. She has reacted well when I have had objections to certain ways of framing things and has given some great insight and good tools to move forward. I look forward to continuing this process with her.
