I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) with over 10 years of experience. I have worked in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Minnesota in a variety of settings, including residential and outpatient treatment centers. Minnesota is where I call home. I currently work as a clinical director for a mental health and chemical dependency residential treatment center in Minnesota.
I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa in 2007, majoring in psychology and then received my LADC with Minnesota in 2013. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University in 2019. In 2019 I also received my Licensed Graduate Social Work (LGSW) before receiving my LICSW in 2022.
My experience includes helping patients with a variety of concerns, including addiction, depression, anxiety, impulsivity, life changes, relationship issues, career challenges, and trauma.
I believe in person centered, compassionate, non-judgmental care. I tailor my therapy approaches and styles to match your individual needs. I include the following therapy styles and modalities into my practice; cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, mindfulness practices, humanistic, psychodynamic, solution focused, and trauma informed care.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Overall rating:
Amy is amazing. I highly recommend her.
Great therapist!
Amy cares. Amy listens. Amy challenges me. She sends me worksheets to help me work through my emotions and to refer to when I'm feeling anxious. She's a therapist who genuinely cares and isn't just here for a paycheck.
Love how well she listened to me
