Sarah is an outstanding therapist who not only offers terrific advice, but she actually listens to you before she offers an opinion. She allows you to speak your truth, even when she disagrees with it. Moreover, she is kind, compassionate, intelligent, and very funny. It's been a pleasure working with Sarah, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for an outstanding therapist.

More about Sarah

  • 25 years' experience

  • LICSW

As a lifelong social worker with over 25 years of professional experience, I have had the privilege to work with many different people from all walks of life. I earned my MSW at Washington University in St. Louis and completed my BSW at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. I have been a licensed independent clinical social worker in Massachusetts since 1997. My field placements took place in a community mental health center, an AIDS services organization, and a national reproductive health care provider. Since then, I have worked primarily in acute care and post-acute acre settings with older adults, psychiatric patients, and their families. My clinical interests include adjustment to loss, aging, disability, grief, and healthy relationships.

My treatment approach relies on a true social work perspective: the person in the environment. Approaches I consistently employ run the eclectic gamut from psychodynamic to rational emotive to narrative therapy techniques. I believe strongly in the importance of creating a safe space to consider deeply personal issues that affect the quality of our lives over time. As such, I will address whatever is on your mind in order to develop therapeutic insight and improve coping skills. This will occur at your own pace based on treatment goals we identify jointly.

I look forward to our time together and the work ahead. Welcome to BetterHelp.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Better help has been a life saver for me. Working with my therapist has given me great strategies for dealing with many personal and professional issues that have kept me emotionally stuck for a very long time.

Reviewed July 2023

First, Sarah is extremely caring! One of the many things that makes her an excellent therapist is that she actually listens to what I have to say. She lets me talk, and then she helps me to access the issue and think about some solutions to handle it. I also like that she validates my feelings. When I was younger, it felt as though no one ever really validated what I was feeling. Sometimes, it made me feel as if I were crazy. Through years of therapy, I've come to believe in my feelings and how to deal with them. Sarah has been a tremendous help with this.
