Cal (Peter) has so far been a wonderful therapist helping me over the last three sessions. He somehow manages to get to the root of things very quietly and unobtrusively, which helps me unravel what is going on. Thank you.

More about Peter

  • 6 years' experience
  • Male
  • BACP

My name is Cal.

I trained to become a counsellor following a positive experience as a client. I know what it is like to sit in that chair for the first time, and I still do it regularly. I have been in practice for over six years, and I have worked with a diverse population of clients around the world. I am a fully qualified, registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

As a pluralistic practitioner, I believe that there is no generally prescriptive approach to counselling. I feel that it is my responsibility to adapt to your way of working, and ensure that you remain at the centre of the work. I am experienced and fully trained in the application of a range of therapeutic techniques, tools, and theory, integrating aspects of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Existential Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centred therapy, Psychoanalytic therapies such as Transactional Analysis, and Psychoeducation.

Counselling can provide the space to unpack what is going on for you and discover meaningful ways to move forward with your therapeutic goals. Accountability, adaptability and transparency are fundamental to my practice. I will regularly check my understanding and welcome feedback to ensure a safe and autonomous therapeutic experience that is right for you.

Every time I speak with Cal he blows my mind in the best possible way. He’s so knowledgeable and listens to me with incredible detail. The sessions have, some how, gotten better and better. Cal deserves credit and recognition for his outstanding and meticulous approach. Great man, great therapist.

Usually I'm a very closed person and it takes me a while to open up. From the very first session, Cal created such a safe space that allowed me to say what's exactly on my mind. For the first time in a while I felt like I'm being understood and that speaks volumes. I couldn't recommend Cal enough!

Great listener, judgement free, and supremely empathetic. Loved working with Callum!

Excellent therapist. Have been to therapy many times, probably the best experience I had. Provides very good listening skills, leads by example in terms of vulnerability/honesty, provides frameworks to help structure approach towards dealing and thinking about problems. Highly recommended to anyone!

Reviewed March 2023

He always takes the time to listen to everything you have to say and takes into consideration all of those points no matter how trivial they may seem. He also has loads of points for me to take away which is always helpful for in-between sessions. I would highly recommend him as it has made me much more comfortable with therapy and not as intimidating as I thought it would be.

Reviewed March 2023

Talking to Callum has been immensely helpful for me. He has taken my concerns very seriously and was always willing and able to adjust his therapy suggestions to my needs.

Reviewed February 2023

Peter is so great at listening and actually understanding my worries. He is really helping me cope with some overwhelming emotions and troublesome life situations by helping me understand why I am feeling certain ways. I can't recommend him enough.

Reviewed January 2023

Callum has been instrumental to my therapy. A very calm and professional therapist who’s understanding and genuine. He helped me through my grief, anxiety and a range of emotions about recent events and things I had buried deep in my past which I thought I would not share with anyone. He created an environment where I could talk about these things calmly and safe. I was lost before I started my therapy, he helped me find myself, he made me want to put in the work for my own growth. I am the best I’ve been in so long, I have myself and him too thank for that.

Reviewed August 2022

Callum is amazing. I have had experiences with other therapists for 5 years and within a few months of speaking with callum I'm already doing better. Callum is great at listening and respecting boundaries. Couldn't recommend a better therapist.

Reviewed July 2022

Callum creates an environment in which I feel comfortable and even enjoy exploring some difficult experiences and emotions. Excellent!

Reviewed May 2022

He is very good at making you feel at ease and leaving a pregnant pause so you talk!!! I enjoy our talks although I usually cry but I'm finding that a great "off load" of my pent up emotions from years gone by. I came to him for a more recent issue but all my past gas unfolded and I feel happier for sharing

Reviewed May 2022

Callum is a really good listener, with his compassionate approach, it creates a space which feels safe to open up and be vulnerable, this allows someone to make sense of their feelings and emotions, and challenge irrational beliefs, he assists in the process of deciding what’s really important in the moment and encourages focus on those points. Very impressed and would recommend to anyone experiencing emotional fluctuations.

Callum is an extremely prepared therapist
