Liz really understands me and listens. She lets me speak and offers advice. She also knows when is the right time to point something out and does it in a way that makes me realise something I wouldn’t have noticed if she didn’t just say it how it is. Her knowledge is great and she is always wiling to give examples to make sure I’m on the same page and that it is an easy way for me to understand.

Hi, my name is Liz and I am therapeutic, online counsellor, based in the UK.

I specialise in working with depression & anxiety, addictions, relationship / family issues, domestic violence, trauma and abuse. These experiences can take a heavy toll on your motivation, self esteem, and confidence.

The work I do with my clients is based around building a strong, trusting and compassionate relationship. I do this by creating a calm space, where empathy, care and non-judgment are at the forefront of the relationship we build. This allows you a safe space where you can courageously explore the concerns that have brought you into therapy at this time.

As part of your journey of healing you will gain new insights into how you think and feel. This will enable you to start to challenge some of the old beliefs that are no longer serving a purpose to you at this point in your life. Regaining self-awareness, confidence and control will help you increase your resilience and ability to bounce back with life's many challenges.

You are not alone, so if you feel ready to take that next step, it would be my pleasure to work alongside you on your journey of self-awareness and recovery.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Liz has been an amazing help in my life when I was feeling down and I was struggling with anxiety and panic attacks. She gave me the tools I needed to handle those feelings and was my safety net when I needed it. She is very warm and easy to open up to. She instinctly knows how to make you feel at ease and how to help you. Also she is very punctual and flexible in planning sessions. She always responded to any messages very quickly when I needed it.

I have found my sessions with Liz so beneficial. She is kind and warm and makes it very easy to open up and share your worries. She always made sure to check in with me and provided a great overview of the session which helped to reflect on my progress. Liz helped me to find clarity and insight into my worries which helped me move forward and deal with them practically. I would recommend Liz 100% for anyone feeling nervous about going to therapy for the first time.

Liz made me feel extremely comfortable from the start. She takes in all information and makes a point of coming back to certain things that stand out to her in a very non-invasive way - it feels like a conversation between two people rather than someone analysing you. I have gained so much from therapy with Liz - thank you!

My sessions with Liz have been nothing but pleasant. I’ve tried therapy before and have always struggled to find a therapist I was happy with. Liz keeps you at ease and comfortable throughout the whole session yet still giving the necessary support. I’m grateful for liz and her gentle approach in our sessions and for always making sure that I am comfortable. I could not recommend liz enough. Thank you for everything Liz!

I was really wary of starting therapy for various reasons, but one being the fear of getting the wrong therapist and it dong more harm than good, or be a waste of time and money. After my very first session with Liz I really felt she was the right therapist for me and my mind was really put at ease because I not only felt I was working with a very experienced profesional but with someone who ‘got me‘ immediately. It took a while for me to open up but Liz’s technique made it so easy to talk that I started looking forward to our sessions. In between our weekly sessions, Liz would message me with an overview of the last session and also regularly check in. This was an added bonus I hadn’t really thought about and having that constant support does really make it worth the money. I had weekly sessions for 3 months and I have made huge progress with my self esteem and confidence. Before I started I was completely stuck with my work and spiralling into a crippling mindset with zero self belief. I am now finding that I am asserting myself more, am more motivated and know what I want and am learning to connect with my true self. Liz gave me resources, specific goals and methods that I will be continuing to use moving forward. I would like to say a huge thanks to Liz for her effort and commitment in working with me, she is excellent at what she does.

First of all i was scared in engaging into any therapy, but i was very positively surprised how things have turned out with Elizabeth Hughes. After a brief phase of getting to know each other better and explaining my problems. we soon started on working on them. Liz managed to connect to me with her friendly manners and questions of reassurance, also she used used alot of techniques to help me very cleverly. She teached me alot about mindfulness and now even after therapy i will still use and improve on that knowledge cause i found it very helpful. All in all i would say that is exactly how therapy should go nowadays in our century, betterhelp is doing a great job on providing the help that is needed for many people and also with keeping great therapists for that.

Elizabeth has played the main part in my recovery from trauma. Her support, advice, guidance & most of all friendly manner has been the thing that’s made returning for each session that bit easier. She is a fantastic therapist & I highly recommend her.

I've been working with Liz since April and she has been tremendously helpful in my journey. Her attention to detail and ability to recall small intricate pieces of information was apparent from the very first session when I explained a life situation with a lot of context. Liz has a very reassuring and calming demeanor, allowing you to process and work through thoughts and feelings at your own pace with absolutely no pressure. He post-session reflections have been extremely useful, interesting and in many cases very eye-opening. This was my first time undertaking therapy and so I initially was a little hesitant and not sure what to expect but Liz has been fantastic. Compassionate, understanding and has really helped me fast track my recovery (which I feel without, would have taken significantly longer).

Reviewed August 2022

Though initially apprehensive about starting therapy, from the first session together Elizabeth created a safe space for me to share my thoughts and feelings. I feel reassured each week by her calming nature and her ability to give value to my needs. I still have a long way to go, but talking to Elizabeth has given me a new perspective on my situation and enabled me to feel more grounded. She cleverly uses a variety of techniques to help me see things more clearly for what they truly are.

Liz has been a great source of knowledge and a place a solace for me once a week. She immediately understood my thoughts, worries and problems from the first session onwards. We worked together in her interventionist style and it has done a lot for my recovery and self discovery in only three months. Her notes after each session are immensely helpful & her reflections helped me self reflect and journal. I feel lucky to have found her & the safe space she created to help me open up.
