Talking with Jess has been enlightening, I'd no idea what to expect and struggled with the whole thing at first. But Jess' calm manner and patience has really helped.

I just had my first session with Jessica and it was brilliant, I felt comfortable straight from the get go and Jessica’s understanding of my needs was well presented and everything I spoke about was listened to and broke down in terms I can easily understand. The first session of many but I’m happy with Jessica’s expertise and look forward to my future growth. Thanks again

More about Jessica

  • 4 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP

I am a registered addictions counsellor based in the UK. I have 9 years experience working in a drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation treatment centre providing a person-centred approach within the organization's self-empowerment ethos. I am also the therapeutic lead for a well established supported housing project. In both settings I work with clients who present with complex emotional and physical needs. As a result, I am very familiar in working with people who have issues such as:

Anxiety

Depression

Domestic Violence

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE)

Trauma

Dual Diagnosis

The nature of my counselling practice both within addiction and private work has predominantly centred around my ability to form reparative, secure relationships. I use an integrative approach in my practice based on Clarksons systemic psycho-therapeutic model of building relationships. This allows me to provide a unique approach when working with clients drawing on different models to provide a tailored way of working specific to them as an individual.

I feel passionate about providing clients with the security of this therapeutic relationship, offering them the space to explore and process some of those more challenging experiences and find ways to manage the feelings attached to this.

I've had a really great experience working with Jessica. As a first timer to therapy, she quickly made the experience comfortable. I always felt I was able to speak freely with Jessica, as she's a great listener and also such a lovely person. I would highly recommend Jessica.

When I started therapy with Jessica I had no idea what a session would entail, I couldn't fathom how I was supposed to tell her things that I couldn't bring myself to say to my partner or family. I found Jessica to be empathetic and focused, at my worst she helped me clarify what I was feeling and how to be kinder than myself. Sessions could equally be as easy as talking to an old friend, for a first experience in therapy I could not have asked for better.

Jessica has been part of my therapy journey from the beginning. From the outset she has been easy to approach and open up to whilst remaining professional and knowledgable. She has a very calm and caring demeanour and she always comes in and out of sessions with a smile. Communication has been great and she has helped me get more out of this service than I thought might be possible. 5* x

I had to change a few therapists before I found what I needed . I was unsure it would help but it definitely has , in a few sessions I feel like I have broken free of so many mental chains that made me feel horrible about myself For someone suffering with addiction for years Jessica is the first person I’ve come across who has genuinely helped me without overwhelming me .
