Hi, my name is Nadine. Thank you for taking a minute to read my profile .

I am a BACP registered counsellor with 8+ years’ experience as a person centred counsellor, with additional specific training in trauma-based techniques and bereavement. I also completed post-graduate study in Hi Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and am a member of the BABCP (awaiting accreditation).

I trained as a counsellor after gaining a wealth of life-experience during an international career that taught me so much about the value of being truly heard by an independent, non judgmental person. However, my aim is to also teach you some tools and techniques so that over time, you become your own therapist.

I have worked with clients of all ages, nationalities and other variables, including with sign language interpreters for deaf clients.

My clients to date have presented with a vast range of problems including depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, career challenges and new directions, OCD, bereavement, questioning sexuality, and issues regarding settling in to new life circumstances / locations / countries. I am also very experienced in supporting clients who have suffered trauma and abuse and who may be experiencing PTSD.

I have worked with hundreds of clients aged between16 to 88 years, and have delivered c.10,000 counselling sessions to date. My client base is very varied, including CEOs of nationwide companies to homeless people living in hostels (I worked as a volunteer weekend counsellor for years to support the latter).

As a therapist, I cannot ‘fix’ your problems but I can support you to identify ways to better manage them, and to reach your own conclusions about what action to take or not take.

My style is down to earth, warm and interactive, and I work at your pace. I treat everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I do not use stigmatising labels.

My approach integrates humanistic, person centred counselling theory with elements of CBT and other techniques I trained in. Simply put, when we work together I speak in layman's terms and tailor our sessions to meet your needs.

Nadine is such a lovely person. I am so glad that she is the therapist I was matched with. Nadine always makes sure to let me talk when I need and be silent when I need to compose myself or am unsure of what I want to talk about. She is hilarious and immensely kind and it’s a shame that we met as therapist and client as I feel she would be an amazing friend. Nadine hears me out and I feel like I'm being heard. She asks questions both for clarification and also to prompt me to reconsider, she's really thought provoking without being provocative or making me feel defensive. I can almost feel the better parts of myself come forward after our sessions and I've noticed instances where I've better understood people in my life, reducing some of my frustration. No such thing as an instant fix but I see clear evidence of her skill in every session. Reassuring without simply indulging me. I feel so lucky to have found an incredible therapist.
