I am a licensed Professional Counselor, licensed both in Arkansas and Missouri. I am a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, licensed in Arkansas. I am a Master Addiction Counselor certified on a national level. I have been working with Depression, Anxiety, Addiction issues for over forty years.

I work with individuals in a collaborative manner. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and elements of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy to find what works best with each person. My responsibility is to encourage each person to self evaluate their values, beliefs and behaviors in an effort to help them find a path to a more enjoyable life. Each person is different and one size does not fit all.

To ask for help takes a great of courage. It is the greatest gift we can give another, is to ask for and receive help. I look forward to working with each person not only for the gift, but for the opportunity to learn a different view of life

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

This man has been a blessing to my life. We have only talked a couple times, but his perspective and overall warmth is just so special. He is very qualified and he helps me feel more confident in my in day- to- day choices. 10/10 would recommend him to anyone.

Reviewed March 2023

I like John. He fits my style of conversation. He listens well and offers sufficient feedback. From day one, he offered information that was applicable to my situation.

Reviewed April 2023

Johnnie consistently brings a unique, down-to-earth perspective to our sessions that helps me see the bigger picture. I really appreciate how he challenges my assumptions in a non-confrontational way and prompts me to think in ways I hadn't before. With his guidance, I have come head-to-head with some truths about myself that I was previously repressing and/or avoiding for a significant part of my life, and I feel like I always walk away from our sessions with something valuable to think about and act on before the next. In the turbulent seas of life, my time spent with Johnnie is like a placid, tranquil lake, and when my sessions with him come to an end I will most certainly look back on them fondly.
