More about Jennifer

Hello, I’m Jennifer Risebury, a BACP registered therapist with experience in person-centered and integrative therapy.

I understand that taking the first step towards therapy can be daunting, but I’m here to offer a non-judgmental, supportive space where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings. Whether you're facing challenges with self-esteem, anxiety, neurodiversity, or other aspects of life, I will work with you to reflect, guide, and unpack what's going on.

My approach is collaborative and tailored to you as an individual. I create a safe and open environment where we can explore your concerns, and I use various therapeutic tools to help you process emotions, develop self-confidence, and better understand yourself. Together, we’ll work on building the emotional resilience you need to move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.

I believe that therapy should empower you to make lasting changes, and I’m here to help you feel more confident, regulate your emotions, and navigate life's difficulties. My goal is for you to leave our sessions with a deeper understanding of yourself and a renewed sense of strength.

I’m responsive to messages and journals and check in at various times throughout the day. If I receive a message after 8:30 pm, I will do my best to reply, but it may be the following morning. Please note that on Sundays and some bank holidays, I may not reply until the next working day.

For sessions, I offer a variety of time slots—30 and 45-minute sessions—to suit your needs, whether you're looking for a check-in or a more in-depth discussion. I try to accommodate as many schedules as possible, so if you have a specific time preference, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate you. I also offer sessions via live chat, telephone calls, or video calls to make things as accessible and flexible as possible.

The first session is our chance to get to know each other and find the best way to work together, but if you'd prefer to reach out before then, feel free to send a message or journal entry, and I’d be happy to respond.

If you’re ready to explore how I can support you, please get in touch.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
